Training without treats
In my course you will not use treats to gain your dog's attention or obedience. Though treats can work, the issue is many people never move past offering our dogs treats. Hence, they end up with inconsistent obedience at best.Â
Instead, it teaches you a language system based on the tone of your voice rather than food to communicate with your dog. Why is this better? Essentially it means that you have the ability to tell your dog what you want them to do in any new situation without needing prior learning or a pocket full of food. Taking them on a new walk and don't want them to go too far? You'll have the skills to communicate this immediately. Moved into a new home and don't want them to go into certain rooms or run out the gate, you'll have the language to let them know. One family member likes the dog to jump on them but you don't, you'll be able to let the dog know when it's OK to jump and when it's not. Having visitors over who are scared of dogs? Just put your dog in a drop and go about the visit knowing your dog is comfortable and your guest feels secure. And the list goes on.Â
And you will learn all of this without treats.
